The first expression of the designed landscape is its representation.
Sketches, diagrams, charts, collages, blueprints, sections, infographics, photomontages, views, models, details… a wide range of possibilities exist to translate new imagined landscapes.
The representation of the projected landscape can in turn be converted into a landscape. A landscape on a different scale, where the vegetation, the water, the architecture, the change of seasons, the passage of time and movement are the other forms of manifestation.
In communicating the landscape of the imagination it is essential to inspire, to teach, to explain and to convince but also to build.
In the digital era, where technology helps to shape ideas and landscapes, there is still the need for art and personal design.
The ever-appealing possibility of capturing, even partially, the essence of the future landscape inspires us to look again at the theme of representation in this issue.
